Abstract:

The present article focuses on the stories of some Bucharest streets, situated in the central part of the city, as Street Grădina cu Cai, Academy street, Batiștei street, Franceză street and Xenophon street. Each of these streets, although being among the most known by the Bucharest people, still has surprises for the interestings stories they keep. This text is written as an imaginary stroll that starts from the Mihail Kogălniceanu Square, to discover the Street Grădina cu Cai and ending by climbring the only Bucharest street with steps: the Xenophon Street.

Gardens, old fashioned houses, theatres, churches, dramatic or funny stories of the past, political intrigues, characters who are still emblematic, all this ”Bucharest of our steps” still keeps in the fascinating history of his streets.
