Abstract:
During the 17th-20th centuries, Biserica Enei Street connected two old churches, St. Nicolae “Dintr-o Zi” and Enei. The route of the street did not undergo major transformations, but the plots of land changed owners as well as their dimensions. The enforcement of new building regulations and alignments led to a new urban plan with new buildings in the second half of the 19th century. Several factors, such as the construction of the “Ion Mincu” Institute of Architecture palace, the bombing of April 4th 1944 and the earthquake of March 4th 1977, radically changed the appearance of the street. The only survivor of these architectural changes remained the “Dintr-o Zi” Church.
